Dr. Cindy Whang is a board-certified and licensed occupational therapist specializing in the rehabilitation of upper extremity injuries and conditions. She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Mary Baldwin University and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Whang is an active member of both the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT).
She began as a sports massage therapist, working with collegiate athletes to enhance performance and recovery. She later transitioned to teaching anatomy to gifted high school students. This rich background in sports medicine, anatomy, and exercise science ultimately led her to her calling as an occupational therapist.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Whang is a certified Tai Chi instructor specializing in arthritis and fall prevention, where she helps individuals improve mobility , balance, and overall wellness. An avid foodie, she loves exploring the diverse culinary offerings of Northern Virginia, savoring both the cultural richness and the creativity of the local food scene.
